5. Who Can Use Zplit (Requirements & Limits)
Zplit is built for teams and collaborators who share revenue from client projects and want payouts handled automatically and transparently.
5.1 Basic requirements
To use Zplit, you (and your collaborators) should:
Be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
Use Zplit for legitimate business or professional purposes (not personal money transfers).
Be located in a country where Stripe is available and able to complete Stripe’s onboarding process.
Have a bank account that can receive payouts from Stripe.
Zplit is operated from the State of Florida, USA, but can be used wherever Stripe supports connected accounts, subject to Stripe’s terms and local laws.
5.2 Stripe & payment requirements
Because all payments and payouts run through Stripe:
The project owner (who creates the Zplit) must connect a Stripe account.
Each collaborator who receives a payout must connect or create their own Stripe account.
If Stripe cannot onboard a user (for example, due to country, verification, or risk restrictions), that user cannot receive payouts via Zplit.
Zplit itself does not approve or decline accounts for payment reasons — Stripe makes those decisions under its own policies.
5.3 Usage limits (early access)
During our early access phase, Zplit is optimized for:
Project-based work where one client pays a single invoice that needs to be shared.
Up to 4 collaborators per split (including the project owner).
Unlimited projects / split links for your account.
We may adjust these limits over time as we learn from usage and Stripe’s guidelines.
5.4 Prohibited or high-risk uses
You may not use Zplit for:
Illegal or fraudulent activities.
Money laundering or disguised personal transfers.
High-risk or restricted categories under Stripe’s policies (for example, certain financial services, gambling, adult content, or other prohibited businesses).
If we detect misuse, or if Stripe flags an account, we may suspend access or block specific transactions to remain compliant.
If you’re unsure whether your use case is allowed, contact us before setting up a Zplit.
