Which types of teams use Zplit?
Zplit is built for teams and collaborators who share project revenue like: – Solo freelancers who bring in outside help – Creative studios & agencies – Small businesses with revenue-sharing partners – Event & wedding pros – Production teams (video, film, audio) – Digital creators & musicians
What’s the minimum Zplit is best for?
At the moment, Zplit is best suited for projects of around $1,000 and up, with up to 4 payees. It’s built for collaborative project work where the value of automating the split outweighs the manual back-and-forth.
How does Zplit handle my client’s payment?
Stripe processes the payment securely. Zplit simply applies the percentages you set and routes each share to the right collaborator.
What fees should I expect?
Zplit charges a simple 2% fee per successful client payment. Stripe’s standard processing fees also apply. You can choose whether these fees are absorbed by you or passed on to your client.
When are payouts sent to collaborators?
As soon as your client pays, Zplit tells Stripe how to divide the money between collaborators. Each collaborator’s share then follows Stripe’s normal payout schedule for their account (typically a few business days). We don’t charge extra for faster payouts.
Do collaborators need a Stripe account?
Yes — anyone receiving money connects or creates a Stripe account during onboarding. This keeps payouts compliant and secure.
How do I set the split percentages?
Just add your collaborators, assign any percentages you want, and Zplit ensures the total equals 100%. You can create unlimited combinations of splits.
Can I reuse a split link for multiple payments?
Each split link is tied to one specific payment. Once the client pays, you create a new link—your percentages can be reused with one click.
How can my clients pay?
Clients pay through Stripe using the payment methods you enable—credit/debit cards and, in many cases, bank or wallet options for larger amounts.
What happens if my client doesn’t pay right away?
For security reasons, payment links expire after a period of time. If a link expires before your client completes payment, you can simply generate a new one and resend it. No charges are made unless a payment is completed.
Who is responsible for refunds?
The organizer is responsible for the client relationship and any refund decision. Zplit may facilitate approved refunds through the original payment flow, but is not obligated to do so. Any non-refundable processing fees, platform fees, or refund-related shortfalls remain the organizer’s responsibility.
How do refund requests work?
Refund requests must be submitted by the organizer in writing from the email associated with their Zplit account. Zplit may request supporting details before reviewing the request. Approved refunds may be processed through the original payment flow, and any unrecoverable fees or shortfalls remain the organizer’s responsibility. For more details about refund responsibility and how refund requests are handled, please see our Terms and Conditions.
What’s the difference between a split and a payout?
A split is the full payment arrangement you create for a client, including all collaborators and their percentages. A payout is the actual amount each collaborator receives after Zplit’s platform fee and Stripe’s processing fees are applied.
What happens if one payee hasn’t completed onboarding?
Payouts are sent only to collaborators who have completed Stripe onboarding. If someone hasn’t connected yet, they’ll need to finish setup before receiving future payouts
What if my account says “Action needed” for Stripe?
If Stripe needs additional information before payouts can be fully enabled, Zplit may show Action needed on your account page. In many cases, you can reconnect Stripe and complete the missing steps directly from there. If you still need help, email support and we’ll send you the correct Stripe update link.
Can I resend or update a split?
Yes, splits can be managed and resent from your dashboard.
Does Zplit hold my money?
No. Zplit never touches or stores your funds. All payments and payouts flow through Stripe.
Does Zplit store card details or process payments directly?
No. Zplit never handles or stores card information. All payments are processed securely through Stripe Checkout.
Is Zplit a wallet or money transfer service?
No. Zplit is not a wallet or money transmitter. We simply define each collaborator’s percentage and Stripe handles all movement of funds.
How does Zplit keep my data secure?
Your payment data is handled by Stripe. Zplit only stores the split configuration and collaborator info needed to trigger payouts.
